Wildlife Rescue — Privacy Policy

Thumb Fort · Effective 16 September 2026

Wildlife Rescue is a single-player puzzle game. It is built to work without collecting personal information: there are no accounts, no sign-ins, and your game progress lives only on your own device.

What we collect

No account, no sign-in, no personal details. Wildlife Rescue does not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or any other information that identifies you. Your game progress (levels cleared, animals rescued, in-game currency) is stored locally on your device; we have no servers and receive no copy of it.

Three kinds of technical data do leave the app, each to a named service provider working for us and for the single purpose described:

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, operating system version, app version and what the app was doing at the moment of the crash) is sent to Sentry, a crash-reporting service, so we can fix the bug. Crash reports contain no personal information and are not used to identify or track you.

Gameplay analytics. The app records anonymous gameplay events (for example, that a board was started, cleared or failed, a hint was used, an advert was shown) and sends them to GameAnalytics, an analytics service, so we can see where players get stuck and tune difficulty and pacing. Each event carries a random identifier that the app generates on first launch and stores on your device, a session identifier, and your device's model, manufacturer and operating system version. The random identifier is not linked to your name, account or advertising ID; it exists so that events from one installation can be counted together. Deleting the app deletes it. GameAnalytics processes this data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.

Advertising data is described in the Advertising section below.

Backups of your progress

So that a lost or broken phone doesn't mean lost progress, your save can be backed up in two ways — both under your control, neither involving us:

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, operating system version, and what the app was doing at the moment of the crash) may be sent to Sentry, a crash-reporting service, so we can fix the bug. Crash reports contain no personal information and are not used to identify or track you.

Gameplay analytics. The app contains optional, anonymous gameplay analytics (for example, how many players finish a level) using Google Analytics for Firebase. In the current release this is switched off. If a future release enables it, the data is aggregate and anonymous, is used only to improve the game's difficulty and pacing, and this policy will be updated to say so.

Advertising

Wildlife Rescue shows adverts, served by Google AdMob. Two kinds, both limited by design:

To serve and measure these adverts, Google's advertising software in the app collects your device's advertising ID, general device information (model, operating system, language, and a coarse location derived from your IP address) and information about the adverts shown and tapped. Google uses this under Google's Privacy Policy and its advertising terms. Thumb Fort receives only aggregate reports (how many adverts were shown and how much they earned) — never anything about you as an individual.

Your choices. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, UK and some US states), a consent screen appears before the first advert, and you can change your choice at any time with the Ad choices link under Settings in the game. Anywhere else the same link tells you that no consent choice applies. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised advertising, in your device's Google settings; adverts then remain but are not tailored to you. Buying Remove ads (see Purchases) switches the between-board adverts off for good; the optional watch-an-advert-for-a-hint offer stays available to you by choice.

What we don't do

Purchases

The game offers optional purchases through Google Play: Remove ads, a one-off payment that switches the between-board adverts off permanently, and mice packs, which add in-game currency to your save. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google's own terms and refund policy; we never see or store your payment details. Google Play keeps the record of a purchase against your Google account, which is how the game restores Remove ads on a new phone or after a reinstall (tap Remove ads again and Play confirms it is already yours, at no charge). On your device the game keeps a simple "ads off" flag and, for mice packs, the anonymous purchase reference Play issues, so that an interrupted purchase is credited once and never twice; no other purchase information is held by us.

Children

Wildlife Rescue is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Thumb Fort collects no personal information from anyone; adverts are requested with Google's family-safe content rating and without child-directed treatment, which means Google treats every player as an adult for advertising purposes.

Data retention and deletion

Your game progress exists only on your device — deleting the app deletes it, together with the random analytics identifier. Crash reports are retained by Sentry for a limited period (typically 90 days) and then deleted automatically. Gameplay analytics are retained by GameAnalytics as anonymous aggregate statistics. Advertising data is held by Google under Google's retention policy; resetting your advertising ID in your device settings disconnects past advertising data from your device. To ask us to delete the analytics events tied to your installation, email the address below, describing your device and roughly when you played, and we will pass the request to our provider.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour changes — for example, if analytics, ads, or purchases are switched on — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
